Some of my favorite bills before the General Assembly which convenes on January 11th for a 45 day short cycle.
Delegate Dave LaRock’s bill to save babies from abortion after 20 weeks gestation, HB1473, we reported on here.
Delegate Scott Lingamfelter’s bill HB1372 would allow school security officers to carry a firearm under certain circumstances.
HB1401, filed by Delegate R. Steven Landes, would allow free speech on campuses in Virginia. Can you imagine such a thing?
Delegate Buddy Fowler has filed HB1428 which would require a photo ID for absentee voters by mail.
Those of us with cats and dogs will like bill HB1477 by Robert Orrock allows lifetime licenses for our puts. The maximum would be $50. That would be so much more convenient than renewing our pet’s licenses every year.
A group of democrat Delegates wants to change how the Electoral College works allowing Virginia to cast its electoral votes based on the majority of popular votes for the nation. HB1482 is a terrible bill.
Jim LeMunyon’s bill HB1498 reduces class size in public schools “Reduces from 29 to 28 the maximum class size in kindergarten; from 30 to 28 the maximum class size in grades one, two, and three; and from 35 to 29 the maximum class size in grades four, five, and six.”
LeMunyon also has two FOIA bills, HB1539 and HB1540.
A terrible Constitutional Amendments proposed by Democrats would remove the ban on felons being allowed to vote. HJ540
