Reagan Movie Review and the Faith and History of America’s 40th President

The latest biopic of the life of the 40th President of the United States Ronald Reagan has been heavily praised by many fellow Conservative and Republican activists throughout Facebook and now I got the chance to see it for myself and I can vouch that the praise it has received is not just mere opinion but common agreement with my fellow peers as a piece of factual history. 

Reagan proved that the best films don’t always contain special effects or fictional scripts to appease the minds of a needy audience nor is this film your run of the mill summer blockbuster but that the best films can simply be brought to life straight from the history books, full of truth and even serve as a purpose for education instead of entertainment. 

To say I was beyond impressed is an understatement as I saw before my eyes actor Dennis Quaid transform from the legendary actor we all know and walk in the shoes of one of the greatest Presidents in United States history and while I already heavily admired Ronald Reagan to begin with, I’ll admit that I left the theater admiring and respecting him even more than I did prior to showtime and learned even more of the great impact he had on this country and the world as a whole.

I learned that Reagan, who gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age, learned that He had great plans for all of us created in His image. Reagan’s faith and trust in the Lord was with no doubt what shaped him into the powerful, influential and principled leader he truly was. 

Throughout history we see that God has and still uses anything and everybody to carry out His will. In leadership, He uses the bad and He uses the good but in the case of Reagan we see that he was indeed a good leader that God, being the author of history past, present and future, used as a vessel to write one of the greatest chapters in United States and World History. 

And in his faith Reagan also showed the example of forgiveness when he forgave John Hinckley Jr. who attempted to take the President’s life on March 30th 1981 in an assassination attempt which also wounded police officer Thomas Delahanty, Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy and disabling Press Secretary James Brady who would succumb from his injuries 33 years later. 

Reagan was indeed a fearless leader who stood up to bullies and most of all took on the Satanic forces of Communism. As President of the Screen Actors Guild, actor Ronald Reagan would defend Hollywood from union organizer Herbert Sorrell and Communist infiltration and years later politician Ronald Reagan would take on the very same Communism as the 33rd Governor of California and then the 40th President of the United States.

Reagan made his start in politics by campaigning in 1964 for Senator Barry Goldwater in his unsuccessful bid for President against President Lyndon B. Johnson. 

To conclude this review if there’s one thing we as Americans can and should learn from not just this film but all of Ronald Reagan’s history is that the battle we are in is not just a battle of political parties but the battle of good vs evil. And evil goes by another name when it comes to policy and the issues at stake and it is the very same thing Reagan fought against and warned us about. Communism! 

Whether you voted for him or not and maybe you have disagreed with him on certain matters and issues but one thing that cannot be denied is the fact that Ronald Reagan loved his country, he cared for the very people he served as Commander in Chief and the content of his character was indeed genuine and he’d tell you a painful truth over a comfortable lie (like most politicians do nowadays). Owning up to his mistakes instead of passing the buck unto another to carry blame. 

The America we see today is on the brink of full blown Communism and the faith, morals, values and principals that Reagan set the example by is on life support fighting for life and I believe Reagan would be heartbroken and angered at the decline of this nation if he were alive today. We have a choice to make and it’s not a choice of Republican or Democrat nor is it about the persons of Donald Trump or Kamala Harris but the choice of Freedom or Communism! This applies as well as to the voting of retaining the House and getting back the Senate. It’s either Freedom or Communism, there is no in between or washing one’s hand in a Pontius Pilate manner! Reagan was wise beyond his years and he warned us then and his warning is even more valid today than it ever has been before.

It must be fought for, protected and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free. – Ronald Reagan 

If you, like Reagan and myself are a born again Christian saved by His grace, will one day have to take an account before God of all we have said, done and thought and that includes the way we vote. 

I don’t care whether you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent, ect or if you’re a fan of Ronald Reagan or not! If you actually want to see pure American History come to life before your eyes and actually have great regard for the truth then you will take the time to see this movie! It’s 100% worth the money and two plus hours of your life to view.

OMG!! We missed an important anniversary!! Sep 5, 2020, the Great Trump Boat Parade in Texas —- in which so many boats were swamped the sheriff had to rescue the MAGAts.

Two weeks ago Lancaster County GOP had a Trump boat parade on the Rappahannock River. Two boats showed up.

My wife and I saw it last night.
Excellent, moving; much better than I thought it would be.
As one poster said, it’s being panned by the msm. To me that’s a badge of honor.
Moreover, don’t expect any nominations for Oscars.
Swine Hollywood will continue to wallow in its satanic drivel.

Why is it that when I go to the VA Tea Party site, I find they no longer link to the “Valley Patriots” Facebook page? Could it be that Facebook page became the place for one and only one MAGAt to rant, rave, foam at the mouth, and generally be an asshole?

A Tea Partier being an asshole. Imagine that.

Here’s a question for you MAGAts.

Reagan was born and reared in Middle America — Illinois.

He went to California to seek his fortune.

He was nominated by the Republican National Convention as their Presidential candidate in August 1980.

Where did he go to make his first speech as candidate? Was it:
— To Illinois to celebrate Mid-American values?, or,
— To California to celebrate the Golden Land of Opportunity?

Neither.

He made his first speech as candidate to a shouting, shrieking, applauding, foot-stomping crowd of rednecks at the Neshoba County, Mississippi, fairgrounds only a few miles away from where, in 1964, three young civil rights workers were kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by the very people who were applauding him. He went to Neshoba County for a reason: To show white Southerners that he would no longer support that civil rights nonsense.

The movie “Reagan” has been panned by every single reviewer as “insipid,” “pretentious,” “lame”, and “just plain awful.”

Of course, I guess the billions spent on other movies will trickle down to the Reagan investors. Meanwhile, watch for it to show up on the late-night movie at Grit.

Not surprising that the denizens of the Bullshitting Elephant will be fawning over it.

You blindly accept the reviewer’s descriptions? Sad. Each of them was likely one of his bitter enemies during his terms in office so naturally that have to denigrate anything that holds him uo for admiration. Question, were you even alive during his terms? Curious. I was. He was great President.

At 81 years old I’ve been around much longer than you. I was on my second tour as an infantry company commander in Vietnam when u were a wet spot on your momma’s sheets. He was a fool in the early stages of dementia, controlled by his wife who made decisions based on consulting with an astrologer.

I’ll be 78 next month. Petard meet hoist. I was a Unit Commander 3 times in my 20+ year career. If you believe that about Reagan then you are foolish. Here are the actual facts about his disease. He was no diagnosed until well after his term ended. Petard meet hoist.

Ronald Reagan underwent neurosurgery in 1989 to remove blood build-up between his brain and skull following a fall from a horse in Mexico. During the surgery, doctors detected what they took to be probable signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Following his presidency, he went to the Mayo Clinic for extensive annual exams starting in 1989 and was given an annual test for dementia and mental deterioration. Each year he passed the extensive exam without showing any signs of dementia beyond normal aging until his test in 19944. Reagan passed away in 2004 from Alzheimer’s Disease
